4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win is a high-volatility Hold and Win slot from Playson, released on August 7, 2025. It runs on a 5x3 grid with 25 fixed paylines, and almost all of its value is concentrated in one respin bonus with four pot-driven modes. The main addition to Playson's Pots series is the Super Pot Bonus Game, which expands the grid to 5x5 and awards a 10,000x Super Jackpot for filling all 25 cells. The maximum win is 15,000x the total bet, and the RTP is 95.70%.

About 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win is the first four-pot title in Playson’s Pots franchise. The franchise began with 3 Pots Riches: Hold and Win, which introduced the color-coded, multi-pot respin mechanic. The fourth pot is the main structural change: it opens a larger bonus grid with a higher top jackpot.

The game has no Free Spins round. The base game produces line wins and collects bonus symbols, and the Hold and Win bonus carries the jackpots, multipliers and collection features. Its defining features are:

  • three colored Clover features (Multi, Collect and Mystery) that can activate alone or together;
  • a Golden Pot symbol that adds features during the bonus;
  • the 5×5 Super Pot Bonus Game;
  • five fixed jackpot tiers;
  • a two-level Bonus Buy.

Playson extended the four-pot format in June 2026 with 4 Pots Riches: Super Wheel. We compare the two titles below.

Playson

Playson was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Sliema, Malta. The studio develops online slots and promotional tools for operators. It works with more than 200 operators and holds licenses and certifications in more than 20 regulated markets, including the UK, Malta, Romania, Greece, Sweden and Ontario.

Playson has 14 years in the iGaming market, with a portfolio of more than 90 games and a network of over 300 partners.

Hold and Win is one of Playson’s core product lines. It includes 3 Pots Riches: Hold and Win, Coin Strike: Hold and Win and Royal Coins 2: Hold and Win, along with the Pots franchise.

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win Rules and Gameplay

The base game pays left to right on 25 fixed paylines, for three to five matching symbols. A Leprechaun Wild can land stacked. Bonus symbols carry cash values. Colored Clover Bonus symbols (violet, blue, and red) and a Super Clover Bonus symbol trigger the bonus modes.

The Hold and Win bonus starts in one of two ways:

  • Six or more Bonus symbols land in a single spin.
  • A Clover Bonus symbol randomly activates the bonus. If fewer than six symbols are on the reels, the game adds symbols until there are six.

All trigger symbols stay in place, and the player receives three respins. Each new symbol that lands resets the counter to three. The round ends when the respins run out, or every cell is filled. The bonus cannot be retriggered.

Pros and Cons for Operators

Pros

  • Recognized franchise. The Pots franchise already has players who know it from 3 Pots Riches. A new release in the series is easier to place than a new standalone title.
  • Clear headline feature. The 5×5 Super Pot and its 10,000x Super Jackpot are easy to explain and can be presented factually in banners and lobby tiles.
  • Varied bonus rounds within one feature. Three Clover features, the Golden Pot and two grid sizes produce different bonus combinations without adding separate bonus games.
  • Flexible Bonus Buy. In markets where feature purchases are allowed, the two price points (70x and 150x) provide separate entry options for standard and high-stakes play.
  • Theme-based campaigns. The Irish theme fits seasonal campaign calendars.

Cons and Considerations

  • Franchise overlap. 4 Pots Riches: Super Wheel shares the grid, paylines, Pot Features, 5×5 mode, top jackpot, and maximum win. Carrying both adds depth to the franchise but little mechanical variety.
  • Bonus-dependent math. There is no Free Spins round, and most of the value sits in the bonus. Base-game sessions can be long and low-return, which affects how Free Spins campaigns perform.
  • High volatility. The game suits players who are comfortable with long gaps between significant wins. It is a weaker fit for segments that respond to frequent small wins.
  • Jurisdiction-dependent features. Bonus Buy and autoplay are restricted in some markets. Any promotion built around them must change by market.
  • RTP configuration. The 95.70% figure is a reference. Confirm with GR8_TECH which version is live in each market before publishing RTP in promotional copy.

Hold and Win and Pot Feature Mechanics

The four pots above the reels correspond to the game’s bonus modes. Three are colored Clover features:

  • Multi (violet). Selects three empty cells and assigns them multipliers of 2x, 3x, and 5x. Any prize that later lands in those cells is multiplied.
  • Collect (blue). Adds the values of all visible symbols to its own value.
  • Mystery (red). Reveals a Mini, Minor or Major jackpot, or a prize of up to 75x the bet.

The fourth pot opens the Super Pot Bonus Game, covered in the next section.

A bonus can start with one, two or all three Clover features active, depending on which Clover symbols triggered it. During the round, the Golden Pot can appear at random and turn into a violet, blue or red Clover symbol, which starts a new feature or strengthens one already active.

This structure explains the game’s volatility:

💡 Bonus rounds can produce very different results, because the mix of active features changes from round to round.

The same mechanic gives operators the most factual message to use in promotion: one bonus game with several possible feature combinations.

Super Pot Bonus Game, Jackpots and Bonus Buy

Super Pot Bonus Game. The Super Clover Bonus symbol triggers this mode. The grid expands to 5×5, and the round starts with at least one Pot Feature active. Landing 15 Bonus symbols awards the 3,000x Grand Jackpot, as it does in the standard bonus. Filling all 25 cells awards the 10,000x Super Jackpot. Both figures are maximum potential outcomes, not expected results.

Jackpots. The game has five fixed jackpot tiers. These are fixed multiples of the bet, not progressive pools, so no pooled liability or contribution setup is involved. Mini, Minor, and Major are awarded mainly through the Mystery feature. Grand and Super are awarded for filling the grid.

Bonus Buy. Players can pay 70x the bet for the Hold and Win bonus with a random mix of features, or 150x for guaranteed entry to the Super Pot Bonus Game. Availability depends on the market and the deployed configuration.

These features work on three separate levels:

  • Native game features. The Pot Features, Golden Pot, Super Pot Bonus Game, jackpots and Bonus Buy are part of the game itself.
  • Provider-level campaigns. Playson’s network promotions run on top of selected titles.
  • Platform-level tools. Tournaments, bonus campaigns, and CRM journeys are delivered via the operator’s platform.

None of the provider-level or platform-level tools are part of the game.

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win vs 4 Pots Riches: Super Wheel

The two 4 Pots Riches variants share the same four-pot framework and Irish-themed presentation, but Super Wheel adds a prominent wheel-based bonus layer alongside the core Hold and Win mechanics.

Super Wheel keeps the Hold and Win framework and changes three things:

  • a prize wheel that can award a prize at the start of each bonus;
  • a Multi Feature that keeps working when the grid has no empty cells;
  • a slightly higher reference RTP.

The 5×5 mode, top jackpot and maximum win are the same.

⚠️ For portfolio planning, the two titles are close substitutes. Super Wheel suits operators who want the latest release in the franchise. The original Hold and Win serves as the simpler entry point to the four-pot format. Operators carrying both need a clear lobby order so the two titles do not compete for the same placement.

Portfolio Fit

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win is a high-volatility, jackpot-led Hold and Win slot built on a recognized franchise. Its distinguishing feature is the expanding 5×5 bonus grid. Operators whose Hold and Win selection has only fixed-size grids get a structural variation they do not already carry.

💡 The game adds less, as the lobby already includes 3 Pots Riches, 3 Pots Riches Extra, and Super Wheel. In that case, the main question is how deep to go in one franchise.

A Pots collection of three or four titles makes sense for operators whose players already play the series. Operators building a broad, varied lobby may prefer one four-pot title alongside Hold and Win games from other franchises and providers.

The game also does not fill a Free Spins role. Players who prefer Free Spins rounds with multipliers should be served by other titles.

Using 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win in Casino Promotions

The game’s promotional hooks are the Super Pot, the jackpot ladder, and the franchise. The campaigns you build around those hooks should run on provider or platform tools.

  • Super Pot messaging. Banners and lobby tiles can state factually that filling all 25 cells awards a 10,000x Super Jackpot. Copy should describe this as the maximum potential outcome.
  • Franchise collections. A Pots collection groups 3 Pots Riches, 3 Pots Riches Extra, 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win, and Super Wheel. Sorting the collection by release date shows how the series developed.
  • Seasonal campaigns. The Irish theme fits St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) and other luck-themed campaigns.
  • Free Spins campaigns. The game has no native Free Spins round, so operator-issued free spins are played in the base game, which has lower value. Small bundles may often return little. Bundle size, stake, and wagering should reflect that. Confirm with GR8_TECH free round compatibility for the deployed build.
  • Tournament inclusion. The scoring method changes how a tournament plays on this game. Total Bet scoring rewards volume. Win/Bet Ratio scoring rewards single large outcomes, so in a jackpot-led game one round can decide the leaderboard. Where Bonus Buy is enabled, operators should decide whether bought bonuses count toward scores.
  • CRM segmentation. Players with a history in Hold and Win titles or earlier Pots games are the natural audience. Cross-promotion to Super Wheel can follow in the same journey.
  • Provider campaigns. Playson’s BLASTS & RACES campaign offers a provider-funded layer that requires no extra technical integration for connected partners. Whether this title is included in a given campaign period must be confirmed with Playson.

These are activation models. Results depend on the operator’s audience, offer design, and market.

Market Considerations

Bonus Buy and autoplay are the two native features most likely to differ by market.

⚠️ In Great Britain, the Gambling Commission prohibits autoplay on online slots, and operators removed feature buy-ins after the regulator’s 2020 warning.

Other jurisdictions apply their own rules and must be checked separately. Because 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win is already on GR8_TECH’s network, operators do not need a separate provider integration to launch it.

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win on GR8_TECH

4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win is available through our GREAT_CASINO AGGREGATION, alongside the wider Playson catalog. GR8_TECH works with more than 250 casino providers; you can add the game via the same connection that delivers their other casino content, with no separate technical project required for a single title.

The commercial work starts after the game is in the lobby, and the GR8_TECH platform supports it at each step:

  • Bonus campaigns. Product-level wagering lets operators restrict a bonus to slots, so a campaign built around this game does not spread into other verticals.
  • Tournaments. The tournament engine scores by Total Bet or Win/Bet Ratio and shows a real-time leaderboard. Entry can be open or limited to selected players. The same game can run in several tournaments at once, so a VIP event and a mass-market event can both use 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win.
  • Multi-currency events. Tournaments run in any of the 160+ fiat and crypto currencies the platform supports.
  • CRM. GR8 CRM’s Journey Builder handles player segmentation and automated bonus scenarios. Its gamification layer adds quests, achievements and loot boxes, and the Bonus Shop lets players exchange virtual currency for rewards.

Free round compatibility and tournament eligibility for 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win are confirmed for your deployed configuration during onboarding.
